Rehabilitation & Communication for Patients with Neurocognitive Impairments
This training consists of 3 parts – You must complete all three parts for Education Credit. Preregistration is required Registration Closes October 11th, 2021 at 10:00am- Open to all Ensign affiliated PT, PTA, OT, OTA, SLP Free of Charge – Non Ensign Affiliated Therapists may attend for $200.00. Part 1 – Live WebX October 13, 2021 – Abilities Care Approach Introductory (30 minutes) – You will be sent a WebX registration link on October 12th, 2021.
Course Overview: Participants will be introduced to Abilities Care Approach. They will gain a broad overview of ACA, and the use of the Allen Cognitive Battery for the assessment of persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other Major Neurocognitive Disorders. Participants will be asked to bring back situations to be addressed during the live sessions.
Part 2 – Self-Study Access through the LMS – Rise Levels 1-4 (Once registered these will be assigned in your LMS training profile) (2 hours)
- Applying the remaining Abilities of Individuals with dementia Early Stage
- Applying the remaining Abilities of Individuals with dementia Middle Stage
- Applying the remaining Abilities of Individuals with dementia Late Stage
- Applying the remaining Abilities of Individuals with dementia End Stage
Each session will take 30 minutes to complete – You must pass the posttest and complete the evaluation to be considered complete. **Must be completed prior to the live Part 3 session
Part 3 Live In person course October 29, 2021 at Carmel Mountain 11895 Avenue of Industry – San Diego, CA 92128 66061 – Afternoon discipline specific breakout sessions
Stage-Specific Rehabilitation for Patients with Neurocognitive Impairments (All Disciplines) Discipline specific breakout sessions immediately following:
PT: Enhancing Health, Function, Mobility and Quality of Life for Patients with Dementia (2.5 hours)
OT: Enhancing Health, Function, and Quality of Life for Patients with Dementia (3 hours)
SLP: Enhancing Communication and Quality of Life for Patients with Dementia (3 hours)
