Dual Task Training in Parkinson’s Disease – Kansas

This course is designed for All Therapists to provide advanced knowledge in the treatment of Persons with Parkinson’s Disease (PwPD). As the care providers tasked with improving function, cognition and quality of life in the Allied Health field, therapists must be able to successfully assess and/or treat the PwPD ability to dual task as research continues to show that there is a strong correlation to dual tasking and the neuroplasticity of the brain needed to achieve and maintain improved functional outcomes for this patient population
Instructors: Cheri Prince, DPT – Cheri is a PT and Director of PDWELL in Omaha, NE. Her clinical interests lie in the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and she hold certifications in LSVT Big, Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR!), and has completed the Allied Team Training for Parkinson’s through the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Amy Renken, MS, CCC-SLP – Amy is a Certified Speech Language Pathologist with extensive work in esteemed health systems and in the community. Special interest in Parkinson’s Disease with extensive experience in building PD programming. Adept in PD related assessment and treatment of motor speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia in acute care, outpatient, acute rehabilitation, long term acute care hospital, and skilled nursing facility settings.
